Situated on the southern coast of Croatia, Dubrovnik has become one of the post popular vacation destinations for Europeans and people from around the world. It’s no secret that “The Pearl of the Adriatic” attracts millions of tourists a year, most coming to visit the infamous city walls that sit above the glistening Adriatic Sea. If you are planning a trip to Dubrovnik, you are probably aware that the city is very expensive, some say even more expensive than London. Although prices are high, there are still many things you can do in Dubrovnik on a reasonable budget. One of my favorite things to do in Dubrovnik is cliff jumping, which is completely free. This post is dedicated to showing you the best places for Dubrovnik cliff jumping.
Dubrovnik Cliff Jumping:
Buza Bar Dubrovnik Cliff Jump
Cliff Jumping from Buza Bar is a popular activity for adventure seekers in Dubrovnik. The Buza Bar (Dubrovnik Cliff Bar) is easily accessible and is located on the edge of the city walls. Buza Bar actually has two locations, the main Bar and then the Small Bar (Bard Mala Buža). Both of these bars are free to enter, and you don’t have to buy a drink to jump from the rocks. The jumps from these rocks range from 1 to 10 meters. Both of these places can be reached by google maps. The Main bar’s address is Crijevićeva ul. 9, 20000, Dubrovnik and the Small bar is at Ul. Ispod Mira 14, 20000, Dubrovnik.
Bellevue Beach Cliff Jump
Another one of my favorites spots to cliff jump in Dubrovnik is Bellevue Beach. This is where some of the locals jump, as there are jumps as high as 20 meters. There are cliffs on both sides of the inlet. The beach is also a great place to lounge for the day and enjoy the sun. The rocks also offer a great spot to watch the sunset. During peak season it is crowded but in the off season it is a hidden gem.
How to get to Bellevue Beach
The entrance to Bellevue beach can be hard to find. The trail to the beach is located to the left of Merit Casino Libertas (pictured below)
Lokrum Island Cliff Jumping
Lokrum Island is situated directly in front of the city walls. Tickets to the island are sold in the harbor next to the old city and the Lokrum Island Ferry costs 5 euros round trip. There are a couple spots to cliff jump on the island. Mrtvo More is a popular spot to jump and is located close to where the ferry drops you off. My favorite spot to cliff jump on Lokrum Island is off the cliffs near HKK beach. This spot has jumps up to 10 meters and is never crowded.
Location of my favorite spot:
Betina Cave Beach Cliff Jumping
Betina Cave beach is a popular stop on most of the kayak tours. It can however be accessed by foot, just search on google maps. The jumps here get up to around 8 meters and are located on the left side of the cave if you are facing out towards the Adriatic. The beach itself is a very nice and secluded place as long as there isn’t a large kayak group arriving.
If you have ANY questions about these cliff jumping spots please ask me below in the comment section. I lived in Dubrovnik for 4 months and am very familiar with the area.

This looks awesome, but I think I’m too much of a nervous Nellie to do any jumping of my own. I think I’ll just hang out on the beach and watch.
Dubrovnik’s been “on my list” for a long time, but I had no idea it was so expensive. Thanks for the heads up!
Cliff Jumping is something I’ll never have the guts to do! This is a great list of good, safe places for people who are into it though.
Well, I’m glad you enjoy it. I would rather swim in the water and snorkel.
This scares the heck out of me! My kids jumped in Curaço and I about had a heart attack! Croatia looks gorgeous though!
Definitely love some of the shots here boss
Thanks bro!
I will definitely not cliff jump. First, I am a non-athletic kind. Second, I am already 71! But Croatia is indeed a lovely place for this with all its spectacular cliffs.
This looks so scary! but glad to know that you enjoyed.I am kind of water phobia person, so glad to read about your cliff Jumping experience.Hope some day I can enjoy water activities.
Wow, these beaches really do look stunning. It must be exhilarating to jump, and I’m jealous that you got to live in such a beautiful place for many months!
Beautiful place to visit. Good article
Awesome recommendations for cliff jumping! I had to be coaxed to take the plunge off the small cliff on Lokrum and am so glad I did it. I can’t wait to go back and check out your other suggestions.
